These are the musings of Rosetta D'amato, an aspiring young mage arriving at the tail end of a blood curse gifted to her by generations of transgression. 

Cursed to die before she reaches the age of 25, a 24 year old Rosetta has made no plans of celebrating her upcoming birthday. Instead, she's spent years researching every loophole and solution she could, all to arrive at one conclusion: 

The lethal curse will destroy the vessel it inhabits; Rosetta is more than willing to trade hers with a willing… or less than willing volunteer. 

After summoning the 4th great demon lord, patron of betrayal, bargains and opportunity, Zantedeschia, Rosetta is determined to free herself from her predetermined tragedy; by any means necessary.

A gentle and polite painter who is visiting from the mainland to capture the unique sights of your hometown. He's rather skittish and sweet, though you can swear his gaze occasionally holds a cold intensity. His status as a newcomer makes him an obvious choice for discretion.

Valerian Edrielle

"... If it's all the same to you. Could you lie to me? You don’t have to mean it, just let me believe in it."

Valerian Edrielle, academic prodigy and irritating colleague, there's plenty to envy about this future marquis and highly acclaimed mage. Such luxuries are surely wasted on someone like him...

Ciaran Bainbridge 

“I’d rather it if you didn’t look at me… I’m not insecure, I’m just afraid.”

Ciaran Bainbridge, the illusive and illegitimate child of the illustrious Prevaloir duchy, he's plagued with rumours of cursed abilities and severe agoraphobia. They say his time spent held captive by a fringe demonic cult has gifted him extraordinary power... A very alluring prospect, indeed.

Maiden Valentine

Valentine, a devout woman of the cloth, sees honesty as a virtue and chastity as debatable. She is better known as ‘The Casanova of Clermont’, a cold and cruel beauty known for charming newcomers and breaking their hearts without remorse. Now, she's set her sights on Emile, the mild mannered painter from out of town. Normally, such a competition would be below an academic such as yourself, but a man with a broken heart is unlikely to be trusting enough to be led to the (sacrificial) altar.

Dame Yuliya Volkova

Yuliya likes only one thing more than a good fight; keeping her job. As the bodyguard of Ciaran, she's quite determined to keep him out of harm's reach. Even worse, she's rumoured to have trained as a holy knight before becoming a Prevaloir knight, meaning any demonic ploys of assassination will be snuffed out quicker than you can light them... Unless, she's taken out of the picture, that is.

Senior Purifier Amadeus Ashwren

Amadeus Ashwren, a senior purifier sent straight from the mainland clergy! He's come here to investigate reports of suspected demonic activity… Oh, dear. While he seems quite passive and unassuming, his high status and determination to find the guilty party seems quite the cause for concern.

• Hello! I'm Fivebirds ^^ welcome to my first real game!! I am operating as a one woman team (art, writing, coding, gui, music, etc!), as such, AMBoL is currently a work in progress!! My aim to have it completed in November 2025 through 3 updates (Emile's route, Valerian's route, Ciaran's route.). Until Ciaran is implemented, the game will remain a work in progress!! She's a little rough around the edges for now but if you enjoy the story let me knowww i love getting feedback you guys are so smart :)
• The writing for each route will be released finished, but I will update/add art assets/scene staging to released routes in later updates :)
• For the routes Valerian and Ciaran, an affection mechanic and win/fail state will exist, as well as a proper interface for route selecting. As Emile is the test  suitor, his story is a relatively linear branching paths experience exempt from these mechanics.
• Each route is treated as a single instance, meaning rollback for choices is disabled and your persistent data for a route will remain until you reach an ending. Savescumming is still totally possible though :)
• Rosetta's Notebook has been added!! Solve the story before Mage D'amato with a stream of clues added w/ every update 🧐
• The french present as of May is very flawed!! I am getting some help from a fluent speaker in the future :)
